Feel the Middle Ages, experience the original Istria, enjoy modern comfort

A Venetian farmhouse for gourmets

Istria offers much more than sun and sea!

The colourful markets sell fish, mussels and vegetables! Award-winning wines can be tasted at the wineries just around the corner and the peppery olive oil is one of the best in the world!

Who wouldn't want to eat black and white truffles or even go foraging with the farmers?

The scent is omnipresent - and rosemary, lavender, and laurel are waiting in the herb garden.

Casa Ceppi*****

is located in northwestern Istria and consists of several buildings framing a large, lushly planted courtyard.

The old manor house and a small adjoining house are suitable for 16-20 people.

Larger groups families will find enough space for a relaxing holiday.

Our ruins of the old stables are a special feature. They are used as shady spots for an afternoon in the hammock, a picnic by the hydrangeas or as a backdrop for a dinner under the stars.

The long Pool and the huge Pool house are a little off the way for sports, fun and children's shouting.

You can spend pleasant hours on the in-house bowling alley. Boccia Bahn können Sie unterhaltsame Stunden verbringen.

Our guests love the cool mix of historic substance, loving renovation and contemporary comfort that gives our elegant Casa Ceppi***** its distinctive character!

History of the house and its residents:

If stones could tell a story

The historic buildings have been repeatedly rebuilt and extended over the centuries. In the 19th century, the Italian-Croatian Argentini family came into possession of the farm estate.

The current complex dates back to 1891.

In the second half of the 20th century, the municipality of Oprtalj took over the estate, used it for meetings, theatre and cinema performances for a while and then left it to decay.

The first car in Istria and its parking space

It is said, that the rich Argentini family was one of the first car owners in Istria.

Und da das neue Gefährt einen überdachten Abstellplatz brauchte, habe der Gutsherr die Laibung des Stalltores kurzerhand mit Hammer und Meißel verbreitert...  Wer findet die Spuren?

The Miracle of "Mary in the Snow"

A long time ago, snow fell in Cepic in the middle of the hot summer, so that the harvest and the survival of the inhabitants were in danger. Desperate, the whole village prayed to Our Lady and was saved.

In gratitude, the inhabitants built a small church on a nearby hill. Today, the pretty romanesque pilgrimage church "Mary in the Snow" is a place of strength for pilgrims and visitors.

Der große, uralte Baum vor dem Eingang der Kirche ist ein wunderbar stiller Ort in der üppig duftenden istrischen Natur.
